Project Patch

What is Project Patch?

Project Patch is an organization dedicated to serving families and youth struggling with emotional and behavioral challenges. We do this through our therapeutic residential behavioral treatment programs for boys and girls ages 12-17, the Family Experience Weekend. We also provide parenting resources through blogs and seminars.

Where is Project Patch located?

Project Patch has multiple locations. Our boys and girls programs are located on the same campus in the Idaho mountains, about an hour north of Boise. Our Family Program is offered at retreat centers and communities around the United States. Our administrative offices are in Vancouver, Wash.

Youth Program

How much does the boys and girls program cost? Do you have a sliding scale?

For more information on the financial aspects of our youth programs, visit our financial information page.

Do you take insurance?

We accept private insurance and Tri-Care. Please contact the Admissions Coordinator for details regarding insurance coverage.

How do I find out if there are openings in the boys or girls program?

Call our admissions director at 360-690-8495 during normal business hours (M-F: 8 a.m.-5 p.m.) for availability.

How long will it take to get my child accepted into the program?

We understand that when you are looking for help for your child, nothing can be done too quickly. That is why we work side-by-side with you and walk you through every step of the process so that you can get your child the help he/she needs as soon as possible. When you submit your First Step Survey it goes directly to our Admissions Department for review. You will be then prompted to choose the best time for our Admissions Director to call you back to discuss if Project Patch could be a good fit for your teen or if another program might be more appropriate. If Project Patch could be a good fit, your family you’ll be invited into the second step of the application process.

What if my child doesn’t want to go into your program?

We do not expect your son or daughter to want to attend voluntarily. It is common for teens to resist what their parents want, especially if they are already struggling with other issues (the reason you are seeking help in the first place). Ultimately, though, it is your choice as the teen’s guardian, and there’s nothing your teen can say or do to change that. Many teens will fight to maintain control of their lives until the very last second, and we are patient and prepared for this. Keep in mind, however, that while we do not expect them to be voluntary, we are not a secured facility.

Are you a boarding school (academy)?

Project Patch is a therapeutic residential treatment program for teens ages 12-17. Your child will attend school during the program but the primary reason for attendance is emotional and behavioral problems.

How do I get my child enrolled in your program?

The Project Patch is a therapeutic residential behavioral treatment program for teens ages 12-17. The Patch school is part of both our Girls’ and Boys’ Programs and only teens admitted into the program at the youth program attend the Patch school. For more information about the accredited school at the Patch Youth Program, Girls’ Program, Boys’ Program.

Is your school accredited?

The Patch school is accredited by the State of Idaho Department of Education, and by the Cognia (Formerly AdvancED) as a special purpose school. Our progressive school program prepares our youth for higher learning and deepens their comprehension of what they are currently studying.

When will someone contact me once I submit a survey and/or application?

As soon as you submit your pre-screen survey, you will receive a confirmation email to let you know we received it. Within two business days, you will receive a personal communication from our admissions coordinator, either via phone or email, to let you know what the next step is for you.
